Suttle Projects MD Joe Paine was invited to become Regional Chair of the Green Skills Advisory Panel (GSAP).
The GSAP originated in the South West and is now a national group established to promote “Green Skills” in Construction. Highlighting and developing key skills that can be applied to the construction of renewable energy sources and measures that exploit those energy sources to reduce carbon emissions.
Joe commented “Suttle Projects work extensively in this area providing EV charging facilities in car park schemes and the construction of five hydro turbines harnessing clean energy from historical river weir structures. I am delighted that Bournemouth & Poole College have opened a new training centre dedicated to new entrants looking to grow their careers in green energy installations including EV chargers, solar panels and heat pump systems.”
The GSAP provides advice and recommendations to the college where the industry has identified emerging gaps to the green skills sector needs. It promotes careers to students and young people, and is developing plans for competitions in local schools, and attending local careers events. All of which will drive the development of skills in the workforce to support the strong growth in this important sector.
