Delivering Results with Precision

Suttle Projects blends innovation and experience to deliver better civil engineering solutions with more certain outcomes.

We achieve this through four key pillars of project delivery: reliability, productivity, creativity and sustainability.

Reliability

During 2023 Suttle Projects delivered 98% of projects on-programme and 98% with zero non-conformance issues. This level of reliability comes from experience delivering projects in challenging locations, including coastal, inland marine, and environments with complex geology.

Reliability also comes from our project planning framework and approach to delivery, refined over many years and many projects. Accurate scoping, streamlined communication, rapid decision making, and relentless budget and timing control add up to one result: certainty.

Productivity

The search for efficient project delivery and lower lifetime costs is often based on what is below ground. Detailed geological surveys and ground investigations ensure there are no surprise factors to cause late design changes, delays and unexpected costs. Our in-house team specialises in creating highly buildable designs for efficient delivery.

Productivity is boosted further through our extensive self-delivery capabilities on land and water, including piling, plant, quarry materials and specialist equipment including an underwater excavator, light work boats and pontoon system.

We are constantly investing in improving efficiencies for customers, such as our latest piling rig that can get much closer to site boundaries, enabling clients to utilise more of the available land for development.

Managing the interface between road and rail along with extensive experience of operating within live sites ensures optimum use of assets during works and managing any risks around possession.

Highly controlled, streamlined operations and clear communication mean that specialist expertise and equipment are mobilised rapidly to make emergency situations like landslides and embankment collapses safe with minimum delay to highways and rail traffic.

Creativity

There’s nothing quite like working in challenging environments, often with many unknowns at the outset, for promoting creativity and innovation. Depending on the project conditions Suttle can deploy a range of in-house techniques for embedded retaining walls and deep foundation solutions. We’re also experienced in marine excavations.

Our teams are connected, adaptable and empowered to make rapid decisions. So changes to the project don’t have to result in variations to the budget or timing. We’re dedicated to spotting issues early and dealing with them efficiently so they don’t disrupt progress. We also have the skills and experience to present clear and fully costed options for project delivery.

Sustainability

Suttle Projects is experienced in working within SSSIs and environmentally-sensitive locations. An environmental inventory is a vital part of the preparation for each project. This ensures we’ve identified sensitive habitats that we need to protect as well as opportunities to increase biodiversity through restorative planting.

We aim to continuously shrink our environmental footprint by using electric vehicles and renewable energy wherever possible and we’re working actively towards net zero project delivery.

Infrastructure projects inevitably create some degree of disruption to people’s lives. We always aim to minimise this through open and effective communication. We make it a priority to give back by enhancing the communities where we work and always aim to leave a positive legacy.

Piling

Skilled and experienced piling teams ensure that our piling projects are undertaken to the highest quality and safety. We own and operate a varied modern fleet of piling plant from manufacturers such as Casagrande, Soilmec, Klemm, Movax and BSP.

Our innovative approaches ensure that the most modern techniques and solutions are being adopted and delivered at all times.
