Suttle Projects Awarded 19 Mile Coastal Zone Maintenance framework, 2024 – 2027

We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded Thanet District Council’s Coastal Zone Maintenance Framework. The Framework will incorporate repairs and maintenance of coastal defence structures along the entire length of the authority’s 19-mile coastline and responsibilities cover proactive maintenance, responsive repairs and a 24-hour emergency call out service with a two-hour incident response time.

To ensure the coastlines’ resilience, the anticipated activities will incorporate a variety of civil engineering works including, masonry and reinforced concrete structures, earthworks and drainage, surfacing, fencing installation and repair and environmental services including the safe removal and disposal of waste.

John Harley, Director of Suttle Projects and Thanet resident, commented “We always aim to plan and implement our works as efficiently and effectively as possible, simplifying our projects for our clients and stakeholders and minimising disruption. It is also particularly pleasing that we have been able to appoint a new Kent based Degree Apprentice Quantity Surveyor who will gain valuable experience to kick star their career on this framework.”

We pride ourselves on keeping local residents and businesses informed in all aspects of our planned activities. At every Framework project site, we will prominently display an information board explaining what we are doing and why. These also include a QR code that connects directly to a real time WhatsApp discussion where individual queries and concerns can be raised and be promptly responded to.”
