Suttle Projects have been appointed for the restoration of the River Malago for Bristol City Council. This phase of the river restoration will focus on re-naturalising the river channel, improving biodiversity, and creating a more accessible and attractive public space.
The works, adjacent to Metalworks student building and running from Clarke Street to Dalby Avenue, focuses on restoring the already open section of the River Malago. This includes clearing vegetation within the existing channel, replacing the current channel walls with a combination of anchored walling and reinforced earth slopes, installing a new debris screen, and enhancing the watercourse with coir rolls and riffle features. The programme also incorporates landscaping to support habitat creation and overall visual improvement.
